A John Williams Celebration 2015

For the 2014/15 Opening Night Concert and Gala, the Los Angeles Philharmonic paid loving tribute to composer John Williams, long a champion and close friend of the LA Phil. Gustavo Dudamel, an awestruck fan of the musical icon, led the orchestra in a crosssection of Maestro Williams' matchless canon. Featuring Itzhak Perlman with a very special musical performance of pieces from Schindler's List as well as the Cadenza and variations from Fiddler on the Roof. We Are One: The Obama Inaugural Celebration at the Lincoln Memorial was a public celebration of the then forthcoming inauguration of Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States at the Lincoln Memorial and the National Mall in Washington, D.C., on January 18, 2009. By some estimates the attendance was over 400,000. The event was musically directed by Rob Mathes of the Kennedy Center Honors. A backing band used by many of the artists was in the orchestra pit, and featured veteran session drummer Kenny Aronoff. The concert featured performances by Mary J. Blige, Jon Bon Jovi, Garth Brooks, Sheryl Crow, Renée Fleming, Caleb Green, Josh Groban, Herbie Hancock, Heather Headley, Beyoncé Knowles, Bettye Lavette, John Legend, John Mellencamp, Jennifer Nettles, Pete Seeger, Shakira, Bruce Springsteen, James Taylor, U2, Usher, will.i.am and Stevie Wonder. Several of the songs performed had been used by Obama's presidential campaign. The concert also featured readings of historical passages by Jack Black, Steve Carell, Rosario Dawson, Jamie Foxx, Tom Hanks, Samuel L. Jackson, Ashley Judd, Martin Luther King III, Queen Latifah, Laura Linney, George Lopez, Kal Penn, Marisa Tomei, Denzel Washington, Forest Whitaker and Tiger Woods.

Hanna-Barbera's 50th: A Yabba Dabba Doo Celebration is a 1989 live-action/animated special for television first aired on TNT hosted by Tony Danza and Annie Potts celebrating 50 years of William Hanna and Joseph Barbera's partnership in animation. This is the first animated project to be presented in Dolby Surround sound system. It covers their years working for the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer cartoon studio, and then the history of Hanna-Barbera Productions Inc., which was set up in 1957. It features clips and scenes from the studio's classic works along with new animated/live-action material and a behind the scenes on Jetsons: The Movie. It was dedicated to the memory of Daws Butler, who died during this production and was also the last television and film project of Mel Blanc, who died seven days before the special's telecast. Turner Broadcasting System, which owned TNT, would later buy Hanna-Barbera in 1991.

The Flintstones' 25th Anniversary Celebration

The Flintstones' 25th Anniversary Celebration was a 60-minute CBS live-action and animated television special produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions in association with Robert Guenette Productions commemorating the 25th anniversary of television's first primetime animated series, The Flintstones, which was broadcast on May 20, 1986. The special, hosted by Tim Conway, Harvey Korman and Vanna White, featured clips from past episodes and spin-offs combined with new animation and musical segments. Special guest appearances also included Telly Savalas, Susan Saint James and Jane Curtin. For the first time, the Flintstones characters were finally done in digital ink and paint for this production.

Hee Haw 10th Anniversary Celebration

In the summer of 1969, HEE HAW moseyed into the CBS time slot occupied by The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour. Conceived as a rural alternative to Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In, the show ranked in the top 20 nationally when CBS pulled the plug in 1971. But co-hosts Buck Owens and Roy Clark, along with the whole Kornfield Kountry gang, sang and joked on in syndication. In 1978, they grinned at the critics in a two-hour 10th-Anniversary shindig, which was videotaped with an audience of invited guests and fans at the Grand Ole Opry House. Mixing nostalgia with new performances by country music's biggest stars, this special edition of HEE HAW never misses the funnybone.
